THE MICHIGAN FIRE PREVENTION CODE, 1941 PA 207, AS AMENDED. The department intends to formally adopt the proposed Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Rules (ORR Number 98-096EQ). These proposed rules will amend the current LPG rules by updating the current rules to standard industry practices concerning the storage and handling of LPG. Following formal adoption, the rules will be submitted to the Office of Regulatory Reform and the Secretary of State. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE ROUNDTABLE TRAINING, TWIN LAKES COUNTY PARK, TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN. The Grand Traverse County Resource Recovery Office is hosting Household Hazardous Waste Roundtable Training for coordinators, volunteers, local officials, and others affiliated with the 46 household hazardous waste programs in the state of Michigan. The day and a half agenda includes topics such as collection site and clean sweep activities, mercury management, household hazardous waste program updates, and RFP's and contracts. Judy Schaefer of the Compliance Assistance Unit in DEQ's Environmental Assistance Division will assist attendees in determining if conditionally exempt small quantity generator materials fit into their household hazardous waste management programs. Martin Jacobson of DEQ's Waste Management Division will provide information on Michigan's universal waste regulations. Finally, Lucy Doroshko of DEQ's Environmental Assistance Division will summarize the Michigan household hazardous waste grant eligibility requirements and application process. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's Environmental Assistance Division and the Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services' Energy Division are presenting this seminar for industries using compressed air systems.
