Overview of the Renewable Operating Permit Program

The Department of Environmental Quality is seeking comment on the following Renewable Operating Permit (ROP) actions:

 

Sumpter Energy Associates - SRN: N8004
 The Department is holding a public comment period from November 11, 2009 until December 14, 2009 on proposed Permit to Install (PTI) # 103-09.  This comment period provides for future incorporation of the final PTI into the ROP as an administrative amendment..

The Department is holding a public comment period from November 9, 2009 until December 9, 2009 on a draft renewal of the ROP.

City Sand & Landfill and Sumpter Energy - SRN: M4510
The Department is holding a public comment period from November 9, 2009 until December 9, 2009 on a draft renewal of the ROP.

Wyandotte Municipal Power Plant - SRN: B2132
The Department is holding a public comment period from October 26, 2009 until November 25, 2009 on a draft renewal of the ROP.

General Motors Corporation Hamtramck Assembly - SRN: M4199
The Department is holding a public comment period from August 31, 2009 until September 30, 2009 on a draft renewal of the ROP.

The public comment period for initial or renewal ROPs has ended and the Department of Environmental Quality has proposed the following Renewable Operating Permits to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for approval:

Those individuals who commented on draft permits during the 30 day public notice period may send comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, Permits and Grants Section, Mail Code AR 18J, 77 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois, 60604. The time period provided to petition the permit to EPA ends 60 days after EPA's 45-day review period ends (i.e., 105 calendar days after the specified start date of the EPA review).  See AQD's Rule 214(8) for further information.
