On
May 4, 2009, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (SOAHR) approved a
Request for Rulemaking
(RFR) for a revision to Part 9, Emission Limitations and
Prohibitions--Miscellaneous, R 336.1902(b) and R 336.1942.
The proposed
revision is
being developed to rescind the "adopt by reference" federal asbestos program. The RFR was withdrawn on May 14, 2009 as written confirmation was received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that there will be additional grant money available in FY10 for the State of Michigan's asbestos program.
