On
January 31,
2007, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules approved a Request for Rulemaking
for the revision of Part 6, Emission Limitations and
Prohibitions--Existing Sources of Volatile Organic Compound Emissions (VOCs), R 336.1660
and R 336.1661
(Rules 660 and 661). On October 3, 2007, the proposed revisions were filed with the Secretary of State and the rules became effective immediately. The amendment incorporates and adopts by reference the amended Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) Model Rule published September 13, 2006. The amendment is intended to further reduce VOC emissions by including more products. Adoption of the amended OTC Model Rule will also facilitate uniformity with the Region V states that have recently started work on the adoption of the amended OTC Model Rule.
