On June 6, 2005, the State Office of
Administrative Hearings and Rules (SOAHR) approved a Request for Rulemaking for
additions to Part 6, Emission Limitations and Prohibitions--Existing Sources
of Volatile Organic Compound Emissions, R 336.1660 and R 336.1661 (Rules 660
and 661).
The new rules limit volatile organic compound (VOC) content in
the consumer and commercial products manufactured, sold, or used in the
state of Michigan. On January 29, 2007, the rules were filed with the Secretary of State and took immediate effect.
