Amendments to the Air Pollution Control Rules

SOAHR 2005-003EQ
A public hearing was held on May 9, 2006, on revisions to the regulations for oxides of nitrogen (NOx), R 336.1818 (Rule 818).  The new rule is intended to meet the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reduce emissions of NOx from stationary internal combustion engines.  The EPA issued Phase II of its NOx State Implementation Plan (SIP) rulemaking on April 1, 2004, requiring affected states, including Michigan, to develop regulations to reduce NOx from stationary internal combustion engines.

Rule 818 was filed with the Secretary of State on November 20, 2006, and became effective immediately.  The final rule, Agency Report, Regulatory Impact Statement, and Request for Rulemaking can be viewed below.
