Amendments to the Air Pollution Control Rules

ORR 2001-072EQ

The Office of Regulatory Reform (ORR) approved a Request for Rulemaking on September 17, 2001, to amend R 336.1122(f), the definition of volatile organic compound, to delete references to photochemical reactivity and vapor pressure of materials in surface coatings.  The Air Quality Division proposed this revision to make the rule as stringent as the federal definition.

On March 5, 2003, the rule amendment was filed with the Secretary of State and became effective on March 13, 2003.  The final rule and Public Hearing Report can be viewed below.
